Willow Oak Center for Arts & Learning offers classes in the arts and humanities in downtown historic Springfield, Tennessee. It was founded in 2007 by Muzetta Swann Miller, a native of Springfield.

Our mission is to promote cultural development, global awareness, and the well-being of the individual and community by providing quality instruction and opportunities for growth and discovery in the performing, visual, folk and expressive arts for children, youth, and adults.

Willow Oak serves approximately 14,000 children, youth and adults each year in our onsite and community outreach programs. Classes include drawing, painting, photography, macramé, calligraphy, children’s chorus, high school and adult chorale, private music lessons, sewing, knitting, crocheting, creative writing, cooking, Spanish and summer arts camps. Two festivals, Art in the Park in September and the Multicultural Arts Festival in May, are offered to the public at no charge.

Our long-range goal is to acquire acreage for a campus to include a performing arts center, art gallery, pottery barn, classrooms, rehearsal space, and garden.

United Way of Robertson County is fighting for a community where every person-no matter their background, their abilities, or their zip code-has an equal chance at a bright future.

Together, we can win this fight if we live as one. If we make our neighbors’ struggles our struggles. Their fights, our fights. United, we can be the hand-raisers, the game-changers, the problem-solvers. Together, we can create a community where every person and every family thrives. Together, we can break the cycle of poverty. Together, we can give kids an equal chance. Together, we can meet our neighbors’ basic needs. Together, we can build strong, healthy communities.

But change doesn’t happen alone. If United we fight. United we win.
